Do you often suffer from a runny or itchy nose, watery and red eyes, or even constant sneezing? Especially when you’re lying in bed or waking up in the morning? Then you probably have an allergy to dust mites, commonly known as dust mite allergy. Since the symptoms are quite similar to a cold, they are often underestimated. Yet almost one in four people are affected. Better: When in doubt, see a doctor and get tested for allergies. If needed, special bedding, such as an allergy-friendly duvet, can help. So you can sleep longer and wake up more refreshed.

How does an allergy affect sleep?

Unfortunately, dust mites prefer to stay where the climate is warm and humid: in our bed. Exactly where you want to relax and recharge. No wonder your nose is constantly blocked and allergy sufferers are forced to breathe through their mouth. This can also lead to snoring. Additionally, with an allergy, the body's immune system is constantly on high alert, causing restless sleep and/or lack of proper rest.

What makes an allergy-friendly duvet so special?

An allergy-friendly duvet is allergen-neutral due to the materials used, so mites have no chance to develop. Besides natural fillings, alternatives with synthetic hollow fibers are especially suitable. These have several advantages: The material makes the duvet particularly light and highly breathable. This way, you stay in the ideal sleeping climate all night – the cozy warmth is retained while moisture is reliably transported away. Compared to down duvets, hollow fiber duvets can also be easily washed and dried.
Small tip: For maximum hygiene, it is important that the entire bed is equipped with an allergy-friendly duvet. So, choose a large duvet for two people or one duvet each for you and your partner.

Sleep Better with Improved Temperature Management – Here’s How

Anyone who is too warm or too cold at night sleeps more restlessly – everyone feels that immediately. But temperature is much more than a matter of comfort: it actively controls how deep and restorative our sleep is. Studies have shown for years that the body falls asleep best when it can efficiently release excess heat and the core body temperature slightly drops.
